Journey of Change – Our Way

October 19, 2023 7:55 pm

Cape York/Gulf RAATSICC, Dr Brian Sullivan PhD (Sicura), and Cairns Regional Domestic Violence service are offering 3-day professional development opportunity for First Nations workers and those working with First Nations men who are using violence.

This professional development opportunity seeks to build on foundational workshop facilitated by Dr Brian Sullivan and First Nation co-faciltiators, Jasmine Brady and Bernard Sebadi in July 2022.

A community roundtable aims to consult and seek community voices in developing an appropriate program for First Nations men using violence, reflecting on current frameworks and theories that support good practice.

Training on day 2 and 3 focusses on building facilitation skills, knowledge and understanding of participants who work, or plan to work with men using violence.

Participants will have access to mentoring to develop the specialist skill set required for this essential work, a networking group or potential community of practice and a program template that can be utilised for future mens group facilitation.
